Google breaks with the habit of a lifetime and announces its first TV ad. The piece was produced by its Japanese team and demonstrates the Chrome web browser. Don’t worry though – it was available online first! http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/05/google-chrome-ads-on-tv.html

Out of the UK, this is a sweet campaign for Twisted Creme Egg bars. The DM ‘strongbox’ contains two bars and one empty wrapper, or escapee. Recipients are asked to track down the missing bars online at www.cremeeggtwisted.com. By signing up to the CIA (Cadbury’s Intelligence Agency, obviously) users follow Twitter clues and use Google Maps mash-ups to track down targets in the hope of winning a holiday in Morocco and £20,000. Screw You Recession

It's taken a while, but finally, a campaign that makes light of the dreaded recession! Uniting young Canadians with light-hearted advice on how to take control of their costs, this campaign is based on a website which features a combination of tips, news and money-saving ideas. It contains the following explanation: 'The recession sucks. We know it, you know it. So what are we going to do about it? Well, we’ve decided not to take this whole thing lying down... Just like Zac Efron says, "we’re all in this together." Well, he sung it really, but you know what we mean. Basically, we’re gonna make the recession our bitch.'

We are excited by an awesome little app to promote the latest Star Trek movie courtesy of AR wizards Total Immersion which familiarises users with the Star Trek franchise’s infamous flagship vessel and its crew. The site launches when users print a specific poster of the film or download the picture to their iPhone. Lining up the image with a computer webcam produces a full 3D rendering of the image. You can then explore the ship’s interior and meet its crew, taking charge of the vessel by firing weapons and upping the speed to warp. Watch the experience here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9Zl1e5pAHA
or try it for yourself: www.experience-the-enterprise.com

In the UK, summer’s round the corner which means hazy sunshine, chilled bottles of Coke and dancing al fresco to Calvin Harris while bizarre little creatures sing ‘yeah yeah yeah’ and ‘la la la’.

Coke's summer campaign features a clutch of cute critters inside a magical organ that’s powered by a chilled bottle of Coke. Once the organ cranks up and the creatures start singing, a throng of dancers appears, compelled to shake their stuff in the sun-drenched countryside. Check out the 60-sec ad here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_q4eJYfA67Q
