[February 2009] Westpac approached The FARM to develop concepts and designs for a new banner campaign to communicate:
• Key message of “debt consolidation”
• Special 0.99% balance transfer rate offer
• Reinforce Earth branding and Qantas Frequent Flyer Points earning benefits
Inspired by the Christmas holiday spending period, we came up with the following concepts.
In order to visually represent “debt consolidation,” icons of typical purchases made over the holiday period are morphed into the shape of an earth credit card. Large zoom transitions that play upon similar parts of shapes between frames are designed to catch the eye and tell the story about the current offer and the frequent flyer benefits.
This concept plays on the idea of the 0.99% balance transfer offer being a late Christmas gift and the Qantas frequent flyer points earnings being an early gift for next Christmas.
