Google breaks with the habit of a lifetime and announces its first TV ad. The piece was produced by its Japanese team and demonstrates the Chrome web browser. Don’t worry though – it was available online first! http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/05/google-chrome-ads-on-tv.html

Out of the UK, this is a sweet campaign for Twisted Creme Egg bars. The DM ‘strongbox’ contains two bars and one empty wrapper, or escapee. Recipients are asked to track down the missing bars online at www.cremeeggtwisted.com. By signing up to the CIA (Cadbury’s Intelligence Agency, obviously) users follow Twitter clues and use Google Maps mash-ups to track down targets in the hope of winning a holiday in Morocco and £20,000.
